ROGER JOHNSON
COLUMBIA. . . Roger Johnson, a resident of Columbia, died Sunday afternoon, April 15, 2012, in a Dothan hospital. He was 100.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be held on his 101st birthday at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Randall Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Johnson was born in Schley County, Georgia, son of the late Walter C. Johnson and Jennie Bell Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. A resident of Columbia since 1958, Mr. Johnson retired as the manager of the Jr. Food Store.
Surviving relatives include his wife Frances W. Johnson, Columbia; a daughter, Vickie J. McLendon, Columbus, GA; three sons, Gene Johnson , Montgomery; David Johnson, Dothan; Randy Johnson Webb; five grandchildren, Kevin, Dawn, Jennifer, Nick and Wendy; and one great-grandchild, Isaiah.
