ECHO COMMUNITY. . .Larry Ward (Buddy) McDaniel, a resident of the Echo Community in Dale County, died Sunday afternoon, May 6, 2012, at his home. He was 68.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 9, 2012, in the Bethel United Methodist Church with Jason Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 4:30 until 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the sanctuary of the Bethel United Methodist Church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mildred Roe, 5332 East County Road 36, Ozark, AL. 36360.
Buddy McDaniel was a native of Columbia but moved to Echo as a child where he lived all his life. He was a 1962 graduate of Carroll High School in Ozark. Buddy was a member of the Bethel United Methodist Church. He was employed by McDaniel Wood as a truck driver in the logging business for most of his lifetime. Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Curtis McDaniel, Jr. and a daughter, Laura Shan McDaniel.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Judy German McDaniel, Echo; two daughters, Lesa Rogers and husband, Blakely, Mabson Community; Shannon Register and husband, Blake, Echo; two sons, Warde McDaniel and wife, Scarlet; and Kurt McDaniel, all of Echo; his mother, Nina Bell McDaniel, Echo; five grandchildren, Candace McDaniel, Joshua Rogers, Jonathan Rogers, Dylan Register and Tyler Register; two sisters, Kay Long and husband, Michael, Pansey, AL; and Vicky Harrison and husband, Rodger, New Brockton, AL; a brother, Norman McDaniel and wife, Lena, Headland; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be the nephews.
