ABBEVILLE. . .Elaine Grubbs Bush, a resident of Abbeville, died Tuesday morning, May 15, 2012. She was 63.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, May 17, 2012, in the Sardis Baptist Church with Reverend George Bryan officiating. Burial will follow in the Georgetown Cemetery, Georgetown, Georgia. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Abbeville. At other times, the family will be at the home of a son, Shannon Bush,1164 County Road 50, Abbeville.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Dale Medical Center, 126 Hospital Avenue, Ozark, AL. 36360 or to the Sardis Baptist Church “Stained Glass Window Fund”, c/o Brenda Roberson, 538 Co. Rd. 23, Abbeville, AL. 36310.
Elaine Bush was born and reared in Georgetown, Georgia, daughter of the late Adrian Norton Grubbs and Nellie Beatrice Wood Grubbs. She was a graduate of Georgetown High School and attended Sparks College. She moved to Henry County, near Abbeville, in 1972. Elaine was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church. She was retired from the Southeast Alabama Gas District in Abbeville as a customer service representative. Elaine was preceded in death by a brother, Adrian Darnell Grubbs.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Shalene Bush Wofford and husband, Trey, Skipperville; a son, Shannon Bush and wife, Karen, Abbeville; four grandchildren, Aaron Bush, Avra Bush, Hunter Wofford and Lily Wofford; two sisters, Annette Bairan and husband, Bill, Atlanta; and Nola Grubbs, Birmingham; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Carl Bush, Will Bush, Andy Bush, Lee Bush, Bill Bush, J. D. Ethridge, Adrian Bairan, Marcelle Plouffe.
