KATIE CREEL RICH

KINSEY……Katie Creel Rich, a resident of Kinsey, Alabama, died Monday night, June 4, 2012, in a Dothan hospital. She was 94.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Thursday, June 7, 2012, in the Kinsey Baptist Church with Pastor James A. Rich and Reverend Brad Hardy officiating. Burial will follow in the Kinsey Cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. Thursday in the church sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kinsey Baptist Church, 6745 Walden Drive, Kinsey, AL 36303 or to the Gideons International, Henry County Camp, P.O. Box 473, Headland, AL 36345.

Mrs. Rich was born in Geneva County, Alabama but was reared in Columbus, Georgia, daughter of the late Allen Matthew Creel and Bridget Ann Watford Creel. She lived in Kinsey all her adult lifetime. Mrs. Rich was a member of the Kinsey Baptist Church and the Beatrice Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Rich, a daughter, Glenda Kay Rich, four sisters, Winnie Thomas, Glennie McArdle, Minnie Chestnut and Lorene Hartley, a brother, Sanford Creel, and daughters-in-law, Diane Rich and Bernice Rich.

Surviving relatives include a daughter, Faye Rich Redmon and husband, Gene Redmon, Wewahitchka, FL; three sons, Daniel J. Rich and wife, Nell Rich; Pastor James A. Rich and wife, Jean, all of Kinsey; Rev. Curtis W. Rich and wife, Elaine, Union Springs; a sister, Dorothy Hagler, Phenix City, AL; eight grandchildren, Dianne McArdle (Austin), Mike Rich (Janet), Anthony Rich, Tim Rich (Colleen), Gary Watson (Jennifer), Kathy Hatcher (Steve), Ned Rich (Stacey) and Robbie Singleton; twelve great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Alice Lewis, Luverne Skipper (Hayward), all of Kinsey; a brother-in-law, Ray Rich (Nell), Eustis, FL.

Serving as active pallbearers will be the grandsons.
