PHENIX CITY, ALABAMA. . .Billy Mack Arnold, a resident of Phenix City, Alabama, formerly of Headland, died early Saturday afternoon, November 15, 2008, in the St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. He was 75

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P. M. (C.S.T.) Monday, November 17, 2008, in Gardens of Memory, Highway 431, North, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Wayne Burdeshaw officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.

The family has requested the omission of flowers.

Mr. Arnold was a native of Headland, son of the late Randall Houston Arnold and Irelle Hodges Arnold. He was a 1951 graduate of Headland High School and served his country in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Arnold formerly lived in St. Petersburg, Florida and was a long time resident of Headland before moving to Phenix City in 2004. He was retired from the Henry County Board of Education as a school bus driver. Mr. Arnold was also formerly employed by Kaiser Chemical Company in Headland. He was a member of the North Phenix Baptist Church in Phenix City. Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Arnold and a brother, Jimmy R. Arnold.

Surviving relatives include wife, Mary Nell Peterson Arnold, Phenix City; two sons, Robert Keith Arnold, Hermitage, TN.; Timothy Keith Capan and wife, Jana Capan, Columbus, GA.; a daughter, Alicia Capan Fisher, Columbus, GA.; two granddaughters, Kimberly Dawn Nichols and Alexa Nicole Capan; four great-grandsons, Brandon Chance Garbin, Justin Keith Garbin, Trevor Ray Nichols and Tucker Riley Nichols; three sisters, Miriam Shelley and husband, Tom Shelley, Tumbleton Community; Brenda Jones and husband, Jerry Jones, Headland; Debbie Gamble and husband, Bill Gamble, Headland; two brothers, Gerald Arnold and wife, Ruby Arnold, Dothan; Emory Arnold and wife, Wylene Arnold, Dothan; a sister-in-law, Martha Arnold, Dothan; several nieces and nephews.
